OVERVIEW
This is above all a relaxed event which, with it being held so early in the year, provides members an opportunity to air their winter projects and catch up on what's being happening. Some of the best modellers in the country have the same idea and, as this is open to all, this offers the opportunity for RAFMAA members to get eyes on some of what will be that season's masterpieces on the show circuit. Last year's event was the inaugural at RAF Shawbury and, following its success, we're delighted that it's going to be held there again this year.

Any model that has even the most tenous link to some military or other can be flown. We've had everything from 100g Vulcans to 20+kg multi-engine bombers, and everything inbetween.

Accommodation is not available at this event. However, there are camping facilities in the area and a number of RAFMAA members who are normally willing to offer some floor space for you to sleep on. Although there's also no burger van, there's normally more cake and drinks provided by the local club than we've ever been able to eat!
Flying
Any standard of pilot can fly but spotters are required due to volume of aircraft airbourne at any one time. A T-card system is used to ensure that everyone gets plenty of flying. The system generally results in aircraft of the same flying characteristics (speed/vintage/Air Force) flying together making it more enjoyable for pilots and spectators alike.
RAFFLE
There is generally a raffle held in aid of station charities. If you are able to provide an item to be raffled then this would very much be appreciated.
