BMFA Council Meeting Feedback

Updated: Jun 11, 2022

Good morning all,

I spent 4 1/2 hrs yesterday in a BMFA Council Zoom meeting. It was my last one! There is not much to brief from it. The Centenary celebrations are starting to ramp up. In fact today is the Mass Launch record attempt at midday. Details of the Centenary events can be found at https://100.bmfa.org . If you are able to support any events then try and wear some RAFMAA branded clothing to identify ourselves. The current BMFA membership (all classes) currently stands at 27574, that includes 1400 British Drone Flyers members. That total number is down 300 members from this time last year. For those of you who holiday in Cornwall and take a glider with you (Paul); St. Agnes Head is currently closed to all flight, man-powered and models. There is some conflict between The National Trust and, I think, Natural England about the use of the site for such activities. The rest of the meeting was run-of-the-mill business. There were gaps that I did not pick up as I was having connection problems. If you have any questions on BMFA business, do not hesitate to ask me.

Ian Nelson, RAFMAA BMFA Rep/Achievement Scheme Coordinator
