We are incredibly saddened today to hear about the passing of longtime friend to RAFMAA and utter stalwart of the aeromodelling community, Alex Whittaker.
A true one-off, we will miss his sharp sense of humour, his strong character, his affable approachability and his infectious passion for the sport that we all love. Affectionately known as "The Command Module", his caravan was as well stocked with liquid refreshment as it ever was with camera equipment and an invitation was always warmly extended to all when parked at our flight line.
The pages of the model flying and power boating press will sorely miss his wonderful photographs and truly inspring words. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family today.
